Been there, saw that: Slaughterhouse at the Melkweg, Amsterdam

Yesterday one of my favorite hiphop groups came to perform at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5’9, Joe Budden and Crooked I formed Slaughterhouse in 2008 and are currently signed to Shady/Interscope. They released their selftitled debut album in 2009 and are currently touring and promoting their second studio album ”Welcome to our house” which will be released in June.
I missed their last performance in the Netherlands so I really didn’t want to miss this one too. All four of the rappers have proven to be great at what they do solo and now combining their skills only makes them greater in my opinion.  Seeing them all together on stage was really something else.
They started the show with ”Sound Off” which is a perfect opening track. They also performed the BET Cypher and a few solo tracks.  The crowd was really hyped up for this, everywhere I looked I saw people rapping the lyrics.  Joell Ortiz,  Royce da 5’9,  Joe Budden and Crooked I don’t only have crazy rapskills but they’re also a bunch of charismatic guys. I don’t think I’ve had so much fun during a hiphop show. They entertained the audience and made us laugh. If you listen to their music you wouldn’t expect them to be this fun. I liked that a lot, it showed that they were having a good time on stage and were very energetic throughout their whole performance. There wasn’t a boring moment during the show.  If they’re going to be in your town anytime soon then you shouldn’t hesitate at all and just go because you won’t regret it.
