Possession make you rich?

”Possession make you rich? I don’t have that type of richness, my richness is life… forever.”

After seeing the ”Marley” documentary I left the cinema inspired and a bit sad. It’s a pity the world lost such a beautiful soul, someone who didn’t let the materialistic side of fame get to him. There were a lot of great parts in the documentary but what really made a lasting impression on me was the way Bob Marley lived his life and coped with fame & money. There are many examples of his altruistic attitude in the documentary. One of them is the video I’ve posted above. We often see people who are rich talk about how money and possession doesn’t mean anything and that’s funny coming from them. Specially seeing them flaunt their new and expensive stuff. But not Bob Marley, he was someone who didn’t just say things, his actions also proved that he lived by what he spoke. That’s inspiring.
I have never understood the fact that people measure their richness with possession. To be rich because you happen to have the newest car doesn’t sound life fulfilling to me.  When we learn to let go of the materialistic attitude that is poisoning our everyday life, we can finally be rich and feel richness in its purest form. Don’t let what you possess define who you are and where you stand in life.

  1. I like your posts. Not very often people of our generation see it this way. Meterialism is one of the biggest poison nowadays. I played with the idea to start my own political party in holland, but not sure if I should get loads of votes for a extreme socialistic, even Marxistic party. what do you think?
Please let me know. It’s time to stand up for the right of everyone?

    1. If you truly feel passionate about it then why not try it? There are a lot of people who share the same idea. Only don’t label it “extreme” anything, I think extreme of everything can have a bad side 😉 Thanks for your comment.
